Lake Twenty-Two
Don’t let the simplistic name fool you, Lake Twenty-Two is a trail that should be at the top of your mind for a hike to tackle this year. This hike gives you a true taste of the Pacific Northwest by sending you through old-growth hemlocks and cedars before arriving at a beautiful alpine lake that is surrounded by scenic mountain views. While this trail is well maintained and provides a gradual incline that can be tackled by most skill levels, it is recommended that you wear waterproof shoes because it’s known for being one of the more wet trails in the area. Once you reach the alpine lake you can either relax on the shoreline, follow the trail around the lake, or endure a hop in the chilly alpine waters before heading back down.
